There is no greater honor than earning the opportunity to listen and share the counseling experience with my clients. Developing trust, mutual respect and gaining a better understanding of what it must be like to live in my clients shoes are my first priorities. My main focus is working with children and adolescents to help their families manage life’s ups and downs. My approach to therapy is strength based; solution oriented so my clients are able to set realistic expectations and healthy boundaries. Therapy is an exploration where we can work together to find new strategies and celebrate milestones. I truly believe in the power of my clients and their ability to create progress.
I first began my therapy training working at Fort Worth Cancer Care Services. During my time there, I worked with cancer patients and their families. This sparked my passion to help children and young adults cope and understand family changes. I then moved onto the Sundance Behavior Hospital where I have spent the last three years, working with young adults and their families during times of crisis. At Sundance I have gained valuable experience in dealing with depression, anxiety, self injury, behavior issues, impulsivity, self esteem, family conflict and a passion for life-transitions and grief counseling.
When I am not in the office I enjoy playing and coaching softball, geocaching, bowling, traveling and collecting new memories and experiences with my family and friends.
“A failure is not always a mistake, it may simply be the best one can do under the circumstances. The real mistake is to stop trying.” B.F Skinner
