For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to help others. My career path has included such jobs as massage therapist, English teacher, and school counselor. I taught middle and high school English for 11 years. I am currently an LPC at CCA where I have been working since February of 2007. I am grateful for the opportunities I am given to work with people as they journey within to find their true selves.
I work with adolescents and adult individuals of all ages. I facilitate a co-dependency group and co-facilitate a personal growth group and a body group with Cathy Woodyard.
My approach towards counseling is to provide a safe and sacred space where clients can connect with their wisest selves. I see my role in this process as witness who has been invited to be with clients as they reveal their essence and find the inner strength to make choices that will serve their highest good.
My presence is gentle and allows a nurturing environment where clients can discover the wisdom they already possess to greet life’s challenges. I believe that healing takes place when one feels safe enough to explore all aspects of who they are: for me, this includes the mind-body connection as well as the spiritual qualities that blend to create our identity and our outlook on the space in which we live.
“All healing has to be ‘walked out’, acknowledged then given thanks.”
