Ongoing Groups at CCA
Personal Growth Group for Men and Women
Facilitated by Suzanne Hales, Ed.D., LPC, LMFT
This group for men and women meets from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday mornings.
This group examines the questions of life which emerge from our developmental process. Why are we here? What is the meaning and purpose of my life? What truly matters most in my life? This group explores our own internal ideals, values, and beliefs that guide our lives. The struggles that we experience in our external lives invite us to unfold our interior lives.
Members are required to make a commitment for one sixteen-week session and may continue for subsequent sessions if desired. This group is limited to eight members.
Personal Growth Group for Men and Women

This group for men and women meets from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings.
This group is designed to help facilitate growth for the individual dealing with feelings, needs, and boundaries. Its goal is strengthen members’ psychological skills so they can develop the capacity for relationship with themselves and others.
Members are required to make a commitment for one sixteen-week session and may continue for subsequent sessions if desired. This group is limited to ten members.
Personal Growth Group for Women

This group for women meets from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday mornings.
This group is an ongoing journey of discovery of who we are as women. We learn how to see our selves accurately and to discover our blocks to wholeness: such skills as setting boundaries, identifying feelings, communication, self care, and living as a spiritual being in a human world. This group also helps us to see the difficult task of motherhood, one of the many roles of women.
Members are required to make a commitment for one sixteen-week session and may continue for subsequent sessions if desired. This group is limited to ten members.
Dream Group
Facilitated by Suzanne Hales, Ed.D., LPC, LMFT
This group for men and women meets from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Monday evenings or the second Saturday of the month from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
This group is designed to focus on the unconscious and how we can learn to listen to our nighttime dreams to help guide our daytime lives. Dreams are highly symbolic and it is fascinating to learn that we have an inner guide (the dream maker) that always guides us to wholeness.
Members are required to make a commitment for one sixteen-week session and may continue for subsequent sessions if desired. This group is limited to eight members.
Healthy Expression Ages 12-14 years
Facilitated by Kelly Ayala, LPC, MS Marriage and Family Therapy
This group is for 12-14 year olds and meets from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evenings. This group goal is to develop healthy communication, coping skills and ways of self expression.
This group is limited to ten members, boys and girls, and is required to make a commitment for one six week session and may continue for subsequent sessions if desired.
Parenting with a Purpose
Facilitated by James “Todd” Lawhorn, LPC
This is a group for one or both parents of school age children who are committed to learning, networking and maintaining essential skills for effective parenting. This group meets weekly in the evening or mid day for a “brown bag”. This group is limited to ten group members.
Supporting Parents
Facilitated by James “Todd” Lawhorn, LPC
This is a support group for parents of children with a variety of disabilities. This group will focus on supporting, learning and enhancing essential skills for successfully parenting and advocating for a child with special needs. This group meets weekly in the evenings or mid day and limited to 10 members.
Finding my Path: Successful Transition
Facilitated by James “Todd” Lawhorn, LPC
This group is for 18-24 year olds who are motivated to seek support and guidance in finding a life direction that will make a positive impact on their future. This group meets weekly in the evenings for 8 weeks and limited to 8 group members.
The Sunday Group
Facilitated by Cathy Woodyard, Ed.D., LPC-S
The Sunday group meets one Sunday afternoon a month from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. The group begins in September with a weekend retreat and then meets monthly though May. The group is made up of ten women who are committed to personal growth and who are open to learning through experiential activities.

The group’s direction is guided by the needs of the members-boundaries, relationships, past hurts, inner awareness, anger issues, self-care, etc. Members are required to make a commitment for one sixteen-week session and may continue for subsequent sessions if desired. This group is limited to eight members.
